  • What is it?

Aftermarket centre boxes are available should you require one. As mentioned in the cat-back section some of the systems do not come with any form of middle or centre box. This can cause a "drony" sound which can be an annoyance. Some manufacturers have created a Centre box to have fitted into the system should you want to get rid of that sound.

Centre boxes are more common on custom made exhaust systems where you can "build your own exhaust" and have the professionals fit it while you wait.

    What are the advantages?

Centre boxes are useful because they can take away the heavy drone that straight through pipes can create.

    What are the disadvantages?

They are going to be a pig to fit, if you currently have a straight through pipe then you will need to have a piece of the pipe cut out to make room for the additional box. This isn't recommened that you do this at home on your drive and we advise you to take it to the pro's to do.

You may notice that adding an aftermarket Centre box will take away a bit of that extra performance you originally looked for but that's life im afraid!
